If your bird is already on a seed-based diet, over a few days mix some old food in with Beaphar XtraVital Exotic Birds to give your bird time to adjust to the new food. Some birds do not require a change over period and will readily accept the new food. Alternatively, if you are changing your bird from a pelleted diet to a seed-based diet, this may need to be done over several weeks to ensure your bird accepts the new style of food. If you are unsure how to do this then please follow the schedule for transition below as a guide.<br><br>The daily amount of Beaphar XtraVital Exotic Birds to give is dependent upon the size of the bird, their level of activity, their housing, the temperature and weather conditions. The below information is a guide, so you may need to adjust the feeding amounts to suit your bird’s requirements.<br><br><b>Orange cheeked waxbill finches:</b> Using the measuring scoop provided, feed 1 scoop (35g) of Beaphar XtraVital Exotic Birds per day<br><b>Strawberry finches:</b> Using the measuring scoop provided, feed 11&edsp;&edsp;scoops (47g) of Beaphar XtraVital Exotic Birds per day<br><b>Zebra finches:</b> Using the measuring scoop provided, feed 11&edsp;&edsp;scoops (57g) of Beaphar XtraVital Exotic Birds per day<br><br>Regularly check your birds weight to ensure you are feeding enough.<br><br><u>Schedule for transition</u><br><br><b>Week one:</b> Feed approximately 25% of Beaphar XtraVital mixed with approximately 75% of their existing seed-based food.<br><b>Week two:</b> Feed approximately 50% of Beaphar XtraVital mixed with approximately 50% of their existing seed-based food.<br><b>Week three:</b> Feed approximately 75% of Beaphar XtraVital mixed with approximately 25% of their existing seed-based food.<br><b>Week four:</b> If your bird is happily eating Beaphar XtraVital then you can stop mixing their existing seed-based food in.
